Colmar, France | Lonza is currently looking for a driven Strategic Buyer Direct Materials.

The successful candidate will play a critical role in managing the procurement process of Direct Materials for the production of Capsules & Health Ingredients, developing strong supplier relationships, and driven cost-effective strategies. This individual will work on a global level with cross functional teams to ensure purchasing aligns with our business objectives and growth goals.

Key Responsibilities:

• Manage relationship with suppliers in liaison with the delegated spend and the category strategy.
• Source, tender, negotiate and contract the spend for the Direct Materials within scope in line with category strategy and business requirements
• Partner with stakeholders in assigned sites, capture site needs, gather data from SAP, ensure business continuity and that procurement meets the site(s) business needs.
• Drive savings initiatives: develop pipeline of initiatives and realize savings with delegated spend suppliers or products.
• Develop category strategy for delegated spend in line with Lonza Procurement KPI’s, goals and business needs.
• Support CHI Director of Capsules & Ingredients direct materials for activities in relation with data mining, contract & NDA management, savings follow up, negotiations preparation.

Key Requirements:

• Bachelor degree in the field of Business, Economics, Procurement, Supply Chain, Chemistry, Pharma, Biology
• Experience in Procurement on an international level (Direct procurement) & procurement processes (category management, planning & contracting, supplier management, negotiation tactics, contract management, tendering, e-procurement services)
• English Fluent
• Scientific background is highly preferred
• Hands on experience of using SAP & Microsoft Office
